Directory: It’s time for the annual update. Please double check your information and email the office with any changes. An updated directory will be available in February.
New Website, New Online Way to Give: This week we’re debuting our new website! While we love our current one, it’s time for a change to something simpler and friendlier for mobile devices. Along with that, we’ll be transitioning away from our current, kinda clunky giving platform to a new one that we hope is easier to use for everyone!
Diaper Drive: The Social Justice committee has initiated a diaper drive for the Idaho Diaper Bank to support low-income households with children. The Diaper Bank is in Meridian and provides 60,000 diapers a month to Treasure Valley families. You can help by purchasing diapers or provide a cash donation (a $10 cash donation can help keep a baby dry for a month)
2023 Altar Flowers: It’s time to prepare for next year’s delightful flowers for our altar! Select your desired date and fill out your dedication: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0A4AAEAC2EA5FC1-2022. As always, please call Nicole in the office if you’d prefer not to create an account.
Sunday Forum: “How Has Our Thinking Changed: Theology and Worship in the Episcopal Tradition”. Sundays, at 9:00 A.M. in the parish hall, let’s gather and learn about changes in the Anglican/Episcopal tradition from its roots to the modern day. A lot happens over time! Jan 15, 22; Feb 5, 12.
Wednesday Evening Wisdom: “Prophetic Spirituality: An Introduction to the Writings of Howard Thurman” Howard Thurman was a minister and civil rights activist of the early 20th Century who influenced Martin Luther King, Jr, and his spiritual writings connect us to how we live our Christian faith. We will use the book, Howard Thurman: Essential Writings, and we’ll start on Wednesday, January 25th, so that people can order the book from their favorite place. (The book has Thurman’s picture right in the middle and is published by Orbis Books). We’ll meet in the parish hall at 6:00 P.M.
All Saints Moviegoers: Our first movie of 2023 will be Thursday, January 26th, at 1:00 P.M. in the Parish Hall. Top Gun: Maverick has been nominated for numerous awards, is a pretty good sequel to the original film, and has lots of action. Please bring your snacks and beverages. Next month’s movie will be held February 23rd!
Annual Meeting: The annual meeting is scheduled for January 29th this year. There will be a breakfast potluck, Eucharist will begin at 9 A.M., and the meeting will follow.
Catechism Videos!: Fr. Joseph has put together a little video series on the catechism (an outline of the faith) to help give anyone who’s curious a simple instruction on our faith. The videos are available on YouTube here: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLtzhUiteQjCi7_fognxOyYH_aoVEr8e-1
McCall Winter Carnival Senior Excursion: Those aged 50 or better are invited to join us for a day trip on January 31st on a large motor coach to see the wonderful ice sculptures. Upon arriving in McCall, you will spend a few hours exploring the ice sculptures and taking in the views of McCall. Lunch will be on your own or you can bring a sack lunch. We’ll view a few additional sculptures from the bus on our way out of town. Some rousing rounds of Bingo and fun trivia questions will help pass the time on the bus. The cost is $35. Find details in our Activity Guide at www.meridiancity.org/activityguide on page 31 or call us at 208-888-3579 to register and pay by phone.
