Ushers

The position of church usher dates to the centuries of Christian persecution, when they stood as sentries on the lookout for Romans and other authorities.  Thankfully times are more tolerant now, but the ushers still make essential contributions to Sunday services.  They greet worshipers upon arrival, pass the collection plates, and direct the flow of communicants.

The duties of an usher are easy to learn, and the position is an effective way for parish newcomers to become familiar with the ways Episcopalians worship.  Whether you are a new arrival or a “We’ve always done it that way” long-timer, the parish always welcomes new faces to all our ministries.  If you’re interested in becoming an usher, tap the ever-effervescent Ray Stark at coffee hour!

Other ministries always looking for fresh talent are Lectors and Eucharistic Ministers, who are overseen by Duncan Nims, and Acolytes, under the charge of Aidan Sites.  If one of these ministries appeals to you, please reach out.

Fr. Joseph’s contact:  For more urgent situations outside of office hours, please call or text his cell at 208-917-2270. If calling, please leave a message with your name, a call-back number, and a detailed message and he will get back to you as soon as he can. You can also text this number. Emails are generally answered when he is in the office.

Our Sunday bulletin can be found here.  If you can’t be here in person, we stream our 9 A.M. service on YouTube and Facebook.
