BOISE BENCH & BEYOND:
The Longest Night – A Service for the Weary: December 21 is the longest night of the year in the northern hemisphere, the winter solstice. Sometimes the festivity surrounding the Advent and Christmas seasons does not match the weariness in our hearts – challenges in our own lives, pain and heartbreak in the world around us. All Saints is joining with Redeemer Lutheran Church for a contemplative service to let our weary hearts, bodies, and spirits rest on Saturday, December 21st, at 7 PM at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2920 Cassia St. Simple music, prayers, and readings will give us a place to let us care for ourselves and one another.
Zoo Boise: Need a new place to take a walk? All Zoo Boise daily admissions are only $3 each on every Thursday this winter from November 2024 – February 2025. An inexpensive way to have a fun day or wild family adventure in Boise!
Movies: The Egyptian has some fun Christmas movies playing this month! Find your favorite here on their calendar: https://egyptiantheatre.net/calendar/.
DID YOU KNOW?
Did you know that we have over 16 committees? Looking to get involved?
There are many ways to get involved at All Saints! Below are some simple places to start – Fr. Joseph will be glad to link you up with someone to learn more!
- Coffee Hour Host: It’s as easy as brew coffee, bring some treats, and set out plates! Whatever you decide to bring is wonderful, and we supply plenty of coffee, sweeteners, and plates. Bring snacks, a container of half-and-half, and there are directions for everything in the kitchen. Want a buddy to help you out? Great! Want to take care of it solo? Also great! Coffee hour is low-key and everyone is grateful for the gift of hospitality.
- Community Meal: Want to help cook, serve, or clean up? On the first Friday of every month is our community meal to feed folks in our wider community.
- Building and Grounds: Not everyone loves housework, but maybe it’s more fun when you’re doing it somewhere else! Dusting, vacuuming, caring for flower beds, mowing the lawn…so many opportunities to be outside or inside to care for our common home.
- Lector: Want to learn how to be a reader for worship services? It’s a lot of fun getting to read the Bible to the community!
