Creation Care:  Have you noticed the work being done on the West side of our lawn? The goal of this project is to reduce the consumption of water, reduce labor requirements, reduce use of chemicals, improve pollinator habitat, improve visual appearance of facilities, and provide an attractive sanctuary for both parishioners and our neighbors on the Depot Bench. For everyone who has wondered about our approach of using cardboard and wood chips, here’s a great interview with Dr. Scott about their benefits: https://youtu.be/iC7GQHp9-8Q?si=T80XZAEFeqLgnjKC. The City of Boise has a community-based science program called “Bee Watch”: https://www.cityofboise.org/bee-watch. It has numerous guides and links about native bees and how to photograph them. Here are some bee identification guides: https://pubs.usgs.gov/circ/1448/cir1448.pdf & https://efotg.sc.egov.usda.gov/references/public/SC/Bee_Basics_North_American_Bee_ID.pdf.
