July 2, 2026 Snapshot

250 Years of Communion: When America became independent of England, we Episcopalians had to come up with our own new prayer book … which has been changing over time, too! Let’s go back to the past and see how our ancestors around the time of the Revolution worshipped by using a version of the 1789 Communion service! We’ll gather at 6:00 P.M. today, Thursday, July 2nd, in the Sanctuary. (Note: We will not have noon Eucharist).

Lordy He’s Turnin’ 40:  Father Joseph finally hits that big 4-0 milestone this year! Let’s celebrate with a mini-fundraiser to support building a labyrinth at All Saints and support the All Saints Legacy Fund. We’ll have some birthday fun after church on July 19. Could we get 100 people to give 40 dollars – the first 20 donors get a prize bundle!

Free Community Meal:  Friday, July 3rd, is our next meal. Stay and eat with us or take your meal to-go! Share this notification – the more, the merrier! (For those bringing in ingredients, please do so on Thursday, the 2nd, as the office will be closed on Friday.)

All Saints Community Class:  Meet us Friday, July 10th, at 10:30 AM for a guided tour of the Idaho State Capitol. There are many great stories to hear about our wonderful Capitol Building. RSVP your attendance to Ray Stark – if you can come, he will tell you about free parking!

Christmas in July:  Purchase your fireworks from St. Vincent de Paul Southwest Idaho- All Proceeds support our Christmas Toy Store. Dates and times are listed here: https://www.svdpid.org/fireworks?utm_source=idahopress.com&utm_medium=referral.

America 250 Celebrations:  In the heart of the American West, the state of Idaho prepares to commemorate the nation’s 250th anniversary: https://america250.idaho.gov/. If you’re in Boise on the Fourth of July, join us at the Idaho America 250 Capitol Celebration following the downtown parade. The celebration will feature Idaho’s own Josh Ritter, the Afrosonics, food trucks, family activities, and more as we commemorate this historic anniversary together. If you can’t make it to the Capitol, you’re invited to watch the concert broadcast live on Idaho Public Television.

Vestry:  In the Episcopal Church, the central leadership body of the local congregation is the Vestry. It’s named after the vesting room where meetings used to take place back in the early years after the Revolutionary War! The Vestry oversees the health and operations of the congregation. They meet monthly to review finances and look at the overall mission and ministry of the congregation, along with overseeing our building and programs. Members of the Vestry are elected on a rotating basis at Annual Meeting in January. The Senior Warden is named by the rector and is sort of the “Chief Lay Minister” of the parish – and in the absence of the rector, the Senior Warden’s in charge. The Junior Warden is elected by the Vestry and traditionally oversees the buildings and grounds of the parish. The work of the Vestry is strengthened by the ministries of the Clerk who takes minutes and the Treasurer(s) who keep track of how we have used the moneys so generously given to the church. All Saints’ Senior Warden is Al Borg-Borm, Junior Warden is Barb Tool, Clerk is Jen LaForge, and our Treasurers are Sherrill Geddes and Mary Kay Peterson. The rest of the Vestry is Michael Englesby, Mike Ritthaler, Patty Rowett-Matlock, Aidan Sites, Ann Ritter, Karen Carson, Kelsey Bullinger, and our Youth Representative is Willow R.! If you have any feedback, questions, ideas, or concerns, chat with one of them and they’ll be sure that your matter is brought up at the next meeting.

Fr. Joseph’s contact:  For urgent situations outside of office hours, please call or text him at 208-917-2270. Please leave a message with your name, a call-back number, and a detailed message and he will get back to you as soon as he can. Emails are generally answered when he is in the office.

Our Sunday bulletin can be found here.  If you can’t be here in person, we stream our services on YouTube and Facebook.
