October 26, 2023 Snapshot

Depot Bench Bash:  Join the neighborhood at the train depot today from 4-7 to celebrate our community!  Food, drinks, music, youth & adult activities – learn about local projects and meet some of our small businesses!

RECHARGE DAY:  All hands on deck!  Please join us on Saturday, October 28th, to clean up our property for all of our fall events and for Bishop Jos’ visit!  Lunch will be served – just be here with your tools, cleaning items, and gloves at 9:00 A.M.

Pumpkin Saints!:  During the 10 AM service on October 29, we will gather in the parish hall to decorate our pumpkins with saints to begin our week of All Saints celebration! We’ll start off the Eucharist in the parish hall that morning. Each table will decorate a pumpkin together and learn about saints, then we will process our pumpkins into the sanctuary to arrange them around the altar and remember that we are surrounded by the communion of saints every time we gather at the altar! If you would like to donate a pumpkin to help us decorate, please pick up a medium size pumpkin and bring it to the parish hall. Medium size is easier to pick up and move around! We won’t be carving the pumpkins – we will use paint or markers so they last a nice, long time!

Trunk or Treat:  Our 2nd annual Trunk-or-Treat will be October 31st!  We need you and your vehicle to make this successful. Sign up here https://allsaintsboise.org/worship-and-community/sign-ups/ if you can participate.  Candy donations can be dropped off in the office.

Diaper Drive:  Our Social Justice committee is holding an Idaho Diaper Bank Drive through the end of October. Place donations in the white basket near the food donation chart. If cash or check (make out to All Saints) and give to MaryEllen or Janet. $10 donation will provide diapers for a month!  There are no governmental programs to support families for the purchase of diapers. Going without clean diapers impacts the health of the child and contributes to maternal depression and anxiety. Thank you for your donations.

All Souls Day:  As is our tradition, we pray for all those who have died at our All Souls Day Eucharist (this year will be Thursday, November 2 at noon). All are welcome to submit names for those they would like prayed for. No matter how long ago they died, no matter their faith, or even if we had a conflicted relationship with them, we can pray for them still. Please fill out the online form at https://forms.gle/ZqRDtvmde2T5WsrJ7.

Bishop’s Brunch:  Sunday, Nov. 5th, is All Saints Sunday and the annual Bishop’s visit!  We will have brunch after the joint 9:00 A.M. service. We will need main dishes, sides, salads, and desserts. Sign up with Anita to bring your favorite to share.

Election Day:  Please be aware that our facility will be a voting location Tuesday, November 7th.

Holiday Bazaar:  We need a few more volunteers for small tasks – see the list in the narthex & let Anita know what you can help with!

Poinsettias:  Our sign up for Christmas Poinsettias is live:   https://allsaintsboise.org/worship-and-community/sign-ups/.  Be sure to add in your dedication.

Joseph’s Closet:  Please consider donating clean winter outerwear to the Whitney United Methodist Church for them to provide to men, women, & children.  They accept contributions Tuesday-Friday, 9-12.  Monetary donations are also helpful for this mission.

Fr. Joseph’s Emergency Message Phone:  If you are in need of pastoral care, please leave a message on Fr. Joseph’s emergency message phone at 208-917-2270.  Include your name, a call-back number, and a detailed message and he will get to you as soon as he can.  You may also text a message to this phone!
