March 14, 2024 Snapshot

MINISTRY MEMOS:

Social Justice Monthly Collection:  During this Lent Season, the Social Justice Committee is focused on gathering food for the St. Vincent de Paul donation cart located in our narthex. All donations are appreciated!

Easter Hydrangeas:  We only have a few plants left to sponsor – if you would like one (or more) of these lovely plants, the cost is $30 per plant and you can take it home for your garden after the Easter service!  To sign up, follow this link: https://allsaintsboise.org/worship-and-community/sign-ups/. Be sure to have your dedications ready!

Creation Care:  We are back in the cardboard business as we plan to expand the Pollinator Park this spring and summer!  Please place your cardboard boxes in the cardboard collection container that is on concrete slab outside the North entrance.

Parish Life:  We are in need of a substitute coordinator for May & June to cover for Anita while she’s out of commission.  There are only a couple of tasks to complete during that time, so find her at coffee hour to chat her up!

COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS:

Easter Egg Hunt:  We will be hosting our annual egg hunt on Easter Day and are in need of filling items!  Please bring wrapped candies, small erasers, stickers, quarters, etc. (all items need to be individual or individually wrapped) into the office by Thursday, March 28th.  If you have time to fill eggs on March 30th, please let Lucy Groves know!

Nutrition Class:  Our own dietitian, Julie Walker, will be presenting a class on nutrition Wednesday, April 10th, at 6:30 P.M. in the youth room. There will be a sign-up sheet in the narthex.  Don’t miss it!

BOISE BENCH & BEYOND:

Joyride: Bicycling in Idaho:  Presented by Idaho Film Society on March 15th from 6-9 at the Bus Station.

Women in Idaho:  March 16th at 12:00 PM, Idaho State Archives, 2205 Old Penitentiary Road. Variety from the Vaults is a free public program at the Idaho State Archives. Each month, staff at the archives highlight different items from the collections that tell a part of Idaho’s story. Inspired by Women’s History Month, come learn about women from Idaho’s distant, and not-so-distant past. Discover stories of hard work, and of play; of

sorrow, and of joy- and perhaps even a story that will surprise you.

The Egyptian Theatre:  Enjoy Casablanca on March 16th at 7:00.  Tickets are available here: https://www.showclix.com/event/casablanca-03-16-24.

Idaho Agriculture Day:  March 19 is Idaho Agriculture Day! Let’s celebrate by learning why agriculture is so important to our state. From 9 am to 11 am, there will be interactive displays about Idaho’s various agricultural commodities. This event is perfect for all ages with hands-on activities about the food grown in Idaho.  Idaho State Capitol – 2nd Floor Rotunda, 700 W Jefferson Street.

SAINT OF THE MONTH:

James Theodore Holly, Bishop, 1911:  Most gracious God, whose servant James Theodore Holly labored to build a church in which all might be free: Grant that we might overcome our prejudice, and honor those whom you call from every family, language, people, and nation; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
