August 21, 2025 Snapshot

We are missing some items: a small heater/fan in the main office and our pressure washer from the red barn. If you borrowed these items, please return them to their respective homes.

Fall Formation 2025!:  It’s almost time to get some book studies going for the fall! We’ll get started mid-September, but in case you want to order your book(s) ahead of time: for Wednesday evenings, we’ll read “Models of Heaven: Interpreting Life Everlasting” by M Francis Mannion, and for Sundays we’ll focus on confirmation/being received into the Episcopal Church by reading “Walk in Love: Episcopal Beliefs and Practices” by Scott Gunn and Melody Wilson Shobe.

Ladies Who Lunch:  Today’s Third Thursday! August 21st, we’ll be lunching at Sockeye Grill & Brewery, 12542 W. Fairview Ave. – be sure to ask Stephanie to save you a seat!

Laughter & Libations:  This month we’ll be laughing it up at Vintage ’61 Wine Bar & Kitchen, 1031 N. Main Street in Meridian on August 27th from 4 – 7. Join us at any time for some mid-week relaxation!

Pathways to Hope:  This is an annual conference built around issues of faith and mental health. The conference hopes to unite counselors and faith leaders to change Idaho’s mental health care challenges, together! August 22 & 23 from 6:00 pm – 9:30 pm, at the Institute of Religion, 1929 W. University Drive (Friday, 6:00-9:30pm & Saturday 8:00am-2:30pm) Register here: https://namiidaho.org/event/pathways-to-hope/.

Boise Pride:  Have you ever attended Boise Pride? Curious? This is YOUR year! Please join our parish and the Episcopal Diocese of Idaho in supporting our LGBTQ+ siblings in Christ at this year’s annual Pride Parade and Festival at Ann Morrison Park – check in with MaryEllen to sign up!

Second Way of the Spirit Pilgrimage:  This year it is to Ascension Episcopal Church in Twin Falls in September. We’ll begin on Friday, September 26, and conclude on Sunday, September 28. This is an opportunity to grow in your faith, with people from across our diocese. It will be a road trip and retreat. A time of laughter and a time of spiritual refreshment. The registration link with the event schedule will be posted on the diocesan website in the next few days. Please block these days in your calendar to celebrate faith, friendship, and have fun with the rest of the Diocesan Family from September 26-27. You don’t want to miss it.

To help us begin to prepare for this pilgrimage, I encourage you to:

1.       Pray for the pilgrimage that God will use it to bless your home & our diocese

2.       Pray about going yourself and having a group from your congregation go

3.       Read the book, A Pilgrimage of the Heartby Fr. Kevin Goodrich OP

Click here to get your copy. The book is short, introducing readers to the medieval practice of pilgrimage and some of the classic English mystics, like Julian of Norwich, who sought to make an interior spiritual pilgrimage. It includes helpful exercises and questions for small group discussion.

Fr. Joseph’s contact:  For more urgent situations outside of office hours, please call or text his cell at 208-917-2270. If calling, please leave a message with your name, a call-back number, and a detailed message and he will get back to you as soon as he can. You can also text this number. Emails are generally answered when he is in the office.

Our Sunday bulletin can be found here.  If you can’t be here in person, we stream our 9:00 A.M. service on YouTube and Facebook.

Wondering what’s happening around the church? Click here to find our on-line calendar! If you open the event, it will tell you the time, location, and who’s putting it on. Send an email to Nicole if you’d like something added!
