MINISTRY MEMOS:

Gifts of God for the People of God (Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm, parish hall from Sept 9 – Oct 7):  A book series to learn more about the Eucharist, our regular Sunday morning worship service! This is a great opportunity for people new-ish to the Episcopal Church to learn more about our worship. The book is “The Gifts of God for the People of God: Exploring Worship in the Episcopal Church” by Furman Buchanan.

Christian Formation for Adults (Sunday mornings at 9:00 am, Sept 13 – Oct 21 in the parish hall):  Multiple opportunities! Come to one, come to all! Hazardous Saints: A video series about different saints to learn about their courage and what their witness means for us today!

Baptizing America (Tuesday evenings at 7:00 pm, Sept 22 – Oct 20 at Southminster Presbyterian Church 6500 W Overland):  A book series with our friends from other Boise Bench churches to learn and discuss what “Christian Nationalism” means and its history in the United States. The book is “Baptizing America: How Mainline Protestants Helped Build Christian Nationalism” by Beau T Underwood and Brian Kaylor.

COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS:

Free Community Meal:  Friday, September 4th, is our next meal. We are in need of volunteers to help clean up and run the dishwasher. Many hands make light work!

Coffee & Conversation:  Join Colleen and friends at Push & Pour, 13 S. Latah St, Ste. 2 at 11 AM on Saturday, Sept. 5th, to enjoy some refreshment and lively discussion!

BOISE BENCH & BEYOND:

Archeology: Hidden Treasures:  This installation explores the unity of opposites through the metaphor of an archaeological excavation. Blending symbolism, fantasy, and personal vision, the exhibition invites viewers on a journey beneath the surface – both literally and psychologically. Opening Reception: Thursday, September 03, 2026 / 5PM – 9PM at Idaho Art Gallery, Downtown Boise. On View: September 01 – September 26 – free & open to the public.

COMMITTEE COMMENTARY:

Youth Group:  We are excited to invite you join us this year as we explore what it means to be part of the Christian community in all its wonder and weirdness, faithfulness, and flaws. Together, we will learn more about the Christian faith and our calling to love God, love others, and love ourselves as Christ loves us. Our group is open to ages 13-17 and is open to all – so be sure to invite! Your leaders this year will be Kelsey Bullinger and Lucy Groves. We will be utilizing the Rite 13 Journey to Adulthood curriculum as well as crossWords, a devotional for youth. In these, we will be looking at scripture passages together. We have plenty of bibles, but you are welcome to bring your own if you would like. In our first few meetings, we will craft expectations we have for our group and for one another. Meetings this year will take place from 12 PM – 1:30 PM on Sundays, once a month. All youth will gather in the parish hall before heading up to our classroom. The next meeting will be on Sunday, September 27th. We look forward to a year of friendship, fun, and growth as individuals and as a group!

Sincerely, Kelsey and Lucy
